This state-of-the-art network, designed, architected and operated as per global standards, empowers Sify customers with unprecedented reach and resilience in India. While seamlessly supporting converged multi-play services for a wide range of customer needs – including enterprises, carriers and consumers.

Our network reach of over 500 cities is supported by more than 4500 access sectors to ensure adequate coverage. Sify also implemented Cisco’s CRS-1 (Carrier Routing System) in its IP Next Generation Network (NGN) Core recently. This makes Sify the first operator in the country to have deployed the powerful and advanced CRS-1 core network element that will pave the way for enhanced capabilities, reliability and scalability for multi-play services. It will also serve as a platform to rollout bandwidth intensive applications in the future.

Sify’s backbone infrastructure consists of a meshed network with fibre from multiple service providers with redundant capacities for the highest levels of reliability, scalability, security and speed, and was the first network in India to be MPLS enabled for converged services. In addition, it was the first network in India to provide IPV6 capability, introduced over two years ago, to make the infrastructure future proof. Prior to the deployment of the CRS-1, Sify was also the first IP network in India to use Gigabit Switch Routers (GSRs) in the core network.
